Finn
| Robert Finn, who was the first U.S. ambassador to Afghanistan in more than 20 years, will give a public lecture Thursday (Jan. 22) at 7:30 p.m. in the Georgian Room of the Indiana Memorial in Bloomington. The worldwide effort to aid Afghanistan since 9/11 has brought a new government, the war on terrorism and a multi-billion dollar program of assistance.
Finn, who is currently a professor of Near East studies at Princeton, served as ambassador from March 2002 to August 2003. His other diplomatic postings have included Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Pakistan and Croatia.
