IU spring semester enrollment at record levels

Enrollment at Indiana University is at record levels for a spring semester, both in numbers of students taking classes and in credit hours.

For the second semester of the 2001-02 academic year, 90,670 students enrolled in 1,000,493 credit hours on IU’s eight campuses, according to official university enrollment figures released last month.

The totals represent an increase of 3.7 percent in the number of students and an increase of 4 percent in credit hours compared to the same semester last year. This is the first time IU has taught more than 1 million credit hours in a spring semester.

Every IU campus reported both higher numbers of students and more credit hours taken than in the same semester last year.
