First impressions, second thoughts

Adam Phillips

Psychoanalyst and British essayist Adam Phillips will be visiting the IU Bloomington campus to present Patten Lectures in April.

"'Great Expectations' and First Impressions" is Tuesday, April 19, and "First Impressions and Second Thoughts" is Thursday, April 21. Both presentations will be made at 7:30 p.m. in Rawles Hall 100.

Among his works, from Harvard University Press, are On Kissing, Tickling and Being Bored: Psychoanalytic Essays on the Unexamined Life; Terrors and Experts and Winnicot, a biography of child psychoanalyst O.W. Winnicott.
