Honoring student retention, recruitment

IUPUI was one of four institutions honored by TIAA-CREF in February with the Theodore M. Hesburgh Certificate of Excellence. The campus was recognized for its "Gateway Program to Enhance Student Retention," a program that joined faculty development with a student support effort to increase retention of first-year students. The Center for Teaching and Learning and University College collaborated in the program. (Left to right) Scott Evenbeck, dean of University College, IUPUI Chancellor Gerald Bepko; TIAA-CREF CEO John Biggs and Nancy Chism, associate vice chancellor for professional development, share in the awards ceremony. IUPUI's total student recruitment publication package, including viewbook, mini-viewbook, fact card and campus map, received a merit award from Admissions Marketing Report in February.
