• A nearly 30 percent increase in scholarship funds generated from local support are creating new opportunities for IU East students this academic year. “This is a feel-good story the entire community can be proud of,” said Brent Pieper, executive director of university advancement on the Richmond campus.

• Patients, their families and others may visit the Patient Resource Center at the IU Cancer Center on the IUPUI campus for free information in multimedia format. Resources are available from 7;30 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays, on the second floor of the Indiana Cancer Pavilion.

• MTV’s Rock the Vote bus tour will be stopping at the IUPUI campus Tuesday (Sept. 14), IUPUI is the only Indiana campus on the itinerary. The tour is part of a campaign to register voters throughout the country. Next day stop: Xavier University in Cincinnati.

• The IU School of Informatics maintains a presence on the IUB, IUPUI and IU South Bend campuses. More than 1,400 undergraduate and graduate students are enrolled. An international research forum begins today (Sept. 10) on the IUB campus.
