A Korean doctorate, a Kokomo celebration
|
Exchange nursing professor Jin Yoon missed her own graduation exercises at the Catholic University of Korea in order to arrive in Indiana on time to begin the academic year. So the IU Kokomo School of Nursing faculty got together for a ceremony Aug. 20 to honor the conferral of Jin’s doctoral degree. A professor at Margaret Pritchard University in Korea, Jin was ceremonially “hooded” by Stuart Green, vice chancellor for academic affairs, and Penny Cass, IU Kokomo’s nursing dean. She is team teaching with Linda Wallace, an IU Kokomo associate professor. Her subject areas are comprehensive health assessment, and Korean culture and health care. Jin also hopes to replicate her doctoral study, measuring critical thinking disposition in American nursing students.
