Shenkman to discuss campaign tactics at IU Southeast Sept. 15

Shenkman

For those confused by all of the spin, IU Southeast in New Albany is bringing in History News Network editor Richard Shenkman to present “Vote 2004: How Will You Decide?” The presentation is set for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 15) in the Multipurpose Room on the ground level of the Library Building.

Shenkman is founder and editor of the Web site:
http://www.HistoryNewsNetwork.org.

It features articles by historians of current events. He also is the author of Presidential Ambition: How the Presidents Gained Power, Kept Power and Got Things Done, which was published in 1999 by HarperCollins.

An award-winning television journalist as well, Shenkman has become an expert in discerning fact from fiction in regard to campaign tactics.

Educated at Vassar College and Harvard University, he started his early career as a TV reporter in Lexington, Ky., Oklahoma City, Salt Lake City and Washington, D.C. He has appeared on NBC’s The Today Show, CNN, Fox News and MSNBC. In 1996-97, Shenkman hosted his own prime- time, 13-part television series, Myth America, on the Learning Channel.
