IU Credit Union supports IU and the community

"People Helping People"

"I really appreciate the IUCU Scholarship Program for returning students. It is one way in which the IU Credit Union gives back to the community and recog nizes the importance of higher education."
- Alberta Comer, program developer/coordinator, IU School of Continuing Studies
In the years since the IU Credit Union first opened its doors for business, its members have recogniz ed the importance of maintaining a partnership with the university and the Monroe County community by sponsoring special programs and events.

• Some of our sponsorships dollars provide funding for educational programs for children such as:

—WTIU’s “Friday Zone”

—WTIU’s Ready-to-Learn Festival

—The Reality Store

—Partners in Literacy

—Lotus Festival Children’s Bazaar

• Others tie-in with products the IU Credit Union offers such as mortgages and car loans, and provide related tips for adults:

—WFIU “Car Talk”

—WFIU “Home Time”

• Other important sponsorships include:

—IU Women’s Basketball

—IU Women’s Volleyball

—IU Men’s Soccer

—Hoosier Planner

—Global Business Connection

—Boys and Girls Club

—Girls Inc.

—Local high schools

• Since 1996, the IU Credit Union has awarded $10,000 in scholarships each year to returning students attending Indiana University and Ivy Tech State College. While most programs address the needs of recent high school graduates, our scholarship program w as created to help a segment of the college population that often is overlooked for financial aid and scholarships—the returning adult student.

Scholarship applications are routinely available each year after January 1 at any IU Credit Union branch, the IU School of Continuing Education or any campus of Ivy Tech State College or IU.

• IUCU offers several FREE member seminars each year with a range of topics. Visit www.iucu.org for information on upcoming seminars.

• Also from our Web site, you can enter Home and Family Finance Online to learn about everything from buying a new car to figuring how much you will need to save for retirement. Children can visit Googolplex where they can learn about finances through var ious stages of their childhood.
