Student success
In today's special section about IU East, Chancellor David Fulton discusses the definition of "student success." Meet some students that fit the bill perfectly, catch up on the Campaign for Community initiative and learn about two new degree programs approved by the IU Board of Trustees.
A six-story building near the campus and canal in downtown Indianapolis will serve as a strategic component in the development of the life sciences initiative in Indiana. The building is expected to be completed by the summer of 2008.
Two IU graduate students spent last summer in Mobile, Ala., as part of a survey group assessing the risk factors for adolescents living in inner-city, high-poverty neighborhoods.
Mary Shaw-Perry, co-director of IU's Center for Minority Health, served as their mentor.

Leadership Bloomington Monroe County has bid farewell to its 23rd. Both leadership initiatives are getting ready to recruit their 2006-2007 classes.
