IUPUI men’s basketball coach Ron Hunter plans to honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by seeing that 40,000 kids in Africa get a new pair of shoes. He’s hoping you’ll bring a pair or two to the Jan. 26 game. The IU campuses also will honor King with an official holiday Jan. 21 and events that extend into Black History Month, including an exhibit of photographs of the Bridgewater family of Bloomington and another highlighting the life of the late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall.
