"Float Like a Butterfly, Sting Like a Bee"
The Landmarks in 50 Years of Sport Art exhibit at the National Art Museum of Sport celebrates the founding in 1959 of the museum which is now located at University Place Conference Center and Hotel at IUPUI. The Department of Tourism, Conventions and Event Management at IUPUI is celebrating a significant milestone: 10 years of operating under its current name and offering a four-year bachelor of science degree.
NPR-affiliate WFIU launched the one-hour weekly program Harmonia in October 1991, drawing on the station's strong national syndication history and its connections to one of the world's premiere early music institutes at the Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington; the program is now syndicated on 114 stations across the nation. In August, IU Kokomo was named a Military Friendly School by G.I. Jobs magazine, which recognizes higher education institutions that are doing the most to embrace America's veterans as students.The honor ranks IU Kokomo in the top 15 percent of state universities and private and community colleges that share a priority of recruiting students with military experience.
The Dorene Dwyer Hammes Media Commons and Café in the Schurz Library at IU South Bend was formerly dedicated earlier this week. The new space includes a renovated circulation and interlibrary loan area, a high-tech multimedia production studio, three media viewing stations, and a coffee bar located in a comfortable setting that features an LED TV for viewing cable news, wireless computer capabilities and a newspaper reading area. The space has a relaxed feel that has been drawing students from the time it opened earlier this fall.
