Grants and awards to Indiana University for research and other sponsored programs increased 21 percent in the 2007-08 fiscal year to a record total of $525.3 million. Of that, $263.4 million came from federal sources, such as the National Institutes of Health and National Science Foundation -- a 25 percent increase over the previous year. That total was also a new record for IU.
